Kevin McGuire is fighting for his life and won?t be able to make it to the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards. But Taylor still has him in her thoughts!

Taylor Swift was so sweet to offer to take?ailing high school senior Kevin McGuire as her 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards date. Unfortunately, his worsening cancer has left him hospitalized, unable to make it to the April 1 ceremony!

Kevin, 18, was offered the chance to go after Taylor, 22, said she was not able to go with him to his prom. Yet she still wanted to bring some joy to his battle against Leukemia, so she invited him to be her date to the event.

Sadly, his sister revealed his inability to join Taylor on Facebook.

?I am so sorry to announce this devastating news, but Kevin was admitted to the hospital last night, and is unable to attend the Academy of Country Music Awards with Taylor Swift,? she wrote.

Luckily, Taylor is still keeping an eye on her new friend.

?Just talked to Kevin McGuire,? she tweeted on March 31. ?He?s not well enough to join me at the ACMs. Please keep him in your thoughts. I?ll make it up to you, Kevin!?
